Same app either way. The Microsoft Store version installs with no Windows warning and updates itself through the Store.

After installing, right-click Madconfig → Run as administrator for full ARP scanning and saved Wi-Fi passwords.

Downloaded the installer and Windows says “Windows protected your PC”?

That is normal for a new app from a small publisher, it is not a virus warning. Click More info, then Run anyway. The installer contains only Madconfig and updates come from our own release channel.

Questions

What happens after the 5-day trial?

Madconfig asks for a licence key. Your scans, sites and saved logins stay on your PC: activate and carry on where you left off.

How does offline activation work?

Open Settings → Licence (or the activation screen) and copy your Machine ID. Email it to hello@getmadtools.com. You receive a key made for that PC; paste it and Madconfig unlocks, no internet needed.

Can I use one licence on two laptops?

A key works on the PC it was made for. Need it on another machine? Email us the new Machine ID.

Does Madconfig send my network data anywhere?

No. Scans, sites and passwords stay on your PC. The only outside calls are the public-IP lookup on the overview and the update check.

Is it legal to scan a network?

Use Madconfig on networks you own or are authorised to manage: your company, your clients, your home. It reads the network; it does not crack passwords.

Do I need administrator rights?

It runs without them, but “Run as administrator” gives a complete ARP table and shows saved Wi-Fi passwords for this PC.

Do I get updates?

Yes. Madconfig checks for new versions on start and every 4 hours, and installs them from Settings in one click.
